Letizia Alto smiling with text “Favorite Business Books” for Episode 05 of Beyara’s blog series on must-read books for female entrepreneurs and CEOs.

If you’ve been in the Beyara world for more than five minutes, you know we’re big believers in leading with strategy and soul. That’s why we’re always reading—books that expand our thinking, sharpen our leadership, and remind us that we don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Whether you're in the thick of scaling or dreaming up your next bold move, the right book can be a catalyst. So today, we’re sharing nine books that have made a real impact—on how we lead, build, and think like owners.

These aren’t just shelf decor. They’re practical, powerful, and designed to shift the way you run your business (and life).

1. Who Not How by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy

The mindset shift that changed everything: Stop asking “How do I do this?” and start asking “Who can help me do this?”

This book will help you stop trying to do it all yourself (you’re not meant to) and start building with the right support around you. It’s not just about delegation—it’s about strategic collaboration and letting others accelerate your growth.

2. The One Thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan

If you’re overwhelmed by your to-do list, this book is your sanity check. It helps you focus on the one most important thing that makes everything else easier or unnecessary.

From goal setting to productivity to managing the glass balls (your health, your relationships), this one’s a must-read for getting focused and staying aligned.

3. The Ultimate Blueprint for an Insanely Successful Business by Keith Cunningham

Your business isn’t a hobby—and this book teaches you how to treat it like a machine. Keith shows you how to use dashboards, metrics, and financial clarity to lead with confidence and avoid flying blind.

If you’re already generating revenue or managing a team, this one is essential.

4. The Go-Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann

This short, fable-style book is packed with big truths. It reminds us that business is a spiritual game—and service, generosity, and value creation are the real keys to success.

You’ll want to write the five “laws” down and pin them by your desk. We did.

5. Good to Great by Jim Collins

A classic for a reason. This book uncovers the habits and frameworks that separate great companies from the rest. From Level 5 leadership to flywheel momentum, it gives you a playbook for long-term, sustainable growth.

Bonus: It’s a great read for your whole team. We read it together at Beyara and still use the language today.

6. The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni

If you’re building a team, this book is required reading. It walks through the subtle (and not-so-subtle) dynamics that can erode trust, accountability, and results.

Perfect for anyone navigating leadership, culture, or team growth—especially as your business scales.

7. Start With Why by Simon Sinek

This one helps you connect with your core purpose—and make sure your team does too. At Beyara, we revisit our why every quarter with a State of the Union address. This book will help you build that rhythm and lead with meaning.

8. Who: A Method for Hiring by Geoff Smart and Randy Street

Hiring doesn’t have to be guesswork. This book gives you a repeatable system for identifying, interviewing, and onboarding the right people—especially during your first few hires.

We’ve used and adapted this method ourselves, and it’s saved us from plenty of hiring headaches.
